The Agnosia Series: The design brief was to create a Netflix campaign over a mental or social health issue. My chosen topic is Agnosia in 3 types: Prosopagnosia, Alexia, and Associative. The word agnosia can be translated from Greek meaning ‘to lack knowledge of'.
Prosopagnosia: Developmental prosopagnosia develops early in childhood, and it is not connected to any brain injury. This type of face-blindness last throughout the life of person who has it. Some prosopagnosic patients can no longer recognize close family members or friends and, instead, must rely on other cues such as the person’s voice or clothing to recognize that person. Some patients can no longer recognize their own face in photos or even in the mirror.
Agnostic Alexia: Individuals who have agnostic alexia suffer from severe reading problems while other language-related skills such as naming, oral repetition, auditory comprehension or writing are typically intact.
Associative Agnosia: It is an impairment in recognition or assigning meaning to a stimulus that is accurately perceived and not associated with a generalized deficit in intelligence, memory, language or attention.
